      Background checks and a national registry. Not a ban — the .22 stays on the wall, the grandson inherits it, the government knows it’s there. The rancher from Montana said the registry just makes official what his community already does. Cole Brixton said if you’re 47 minutes from help, the government owes you the help, not just the right to protect yourself in its absence. Which argument reached you?
